Ensures Asset Protection
Highly trained and competent crews insure that assets are managed and protected to the highest standards at all times.
The safety of ships, crews and third party property are paramount and continuous and trouble free operations are fundamental to ASP Ship Management policies.
Internal Training Programmes
The ‘guided study, on-board training programme’ and the ‘shore based induction/continued education programme’ have been developed in line with
‘World’s Best Practice’ to provide the training required by legislation, by our clients and by ASP Ship Management.
We believe in the motto “Train and Retain”
The core intention of this learning mechanism is to provide Seafarer with the means to learn at your convenience and ensure that he remain updated with the most
recent happenings – anywhere, anytime.
ASP Training Centres
Every Seafarer joining a vessel shall undergo the training relevant to his rank as per the Training matrix.
Latest training PPT developed are North American ECA, MLC 2006 , Recovery of Persons from Water, Bio-fouling and etc.
Access to Staff – ASP Training Centres
To provide the training required and to reasonably expect to access all seagoing employees the most appropriate and practical mode of training is employed.
ASP Group Training has established ASPTC Melbourne, ASPTC Manila, ASPTC Mumbai, ASPTC Dhaka, Myanmar, and ASPTC Odessa.
The training sessions provide either induction, continued or on-board training for every seafarer each year in order to cover prescribed training,
to respond to training needs and to address Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental issues.
We also believe that it enables us to refresh and update ourselves along with the officers on new developments in ever changing technology.
Access to Staff – ASP On-board Training
In many instances on-board training is the most appropriate and successful method of delivery.
Where ASP provides a full crew we recommend On-board Training for filling identified gaps along with ASP Standard Training Package.
Safety Training Initiatives
The subject matter of targeted ‘refresher’ training is largely dictated by requirements of ASPSM and is based upon results and observations recorded
during vessel inspections (both internal and 3rd party).
Safety training initiatives are proposed by ASP Group Training based upon feedback from sea staff and input from managers.
The VOD (computer based training) system is recommended for use to supplement face to face training, and a number of Flag State approved courses are available.
Training initiatives and other training materials created for on-board training are used to develop ASP Training Centres.
ASP regularly holds sea staff forums across the group, which is attended by sea going tanker staff on leave.
Seminars provides a common platform for seafarers to interact with the Clients representatives and discuss any area of concern,
besides the safety aspect and contemporary training topics.
ASP Shore Staff Training
We strive to keep our shore staff well updated with current maritime legislations pertaining to crew management.
This knowledge comes in handy when dealing in mariner’s documentation.
Some of these topics are Human Resource Development Management, Environmental Awareness, Crew management Matrix training, etc.
Group Training is also involved in carrying out On board ISM, ISPS, ISO, Safety and Navigational audits.
