Highly trained and competent crews insure that assets are managed and protected to the highest standards at all times. The safety of ships, crews and third party property are paramount and continuous and trouble free operations are fundamental to ASP Ship Management policies. Environmental protection training is provided to all crew.
The ‘guided study and onboard training programme’ and the ‘shore based induction/continued education programme’ have been developed in line with ‘World’s Best Practice’ to provide the training required by legislation, by our clients and by ASP Ship Management.
To provide the training required and to reasonably expect to access all seagoing employees the most appropriate and practical mode of training is employed. ASP Group Training has established ASPTC Manila, ASPTC Mumbai (and Kolkata) and ASPTC Odessa.

The training sessions provide either induction, continued or onboard training for every seafarer each year in order to cover prescribed training, to respond to training needs and to address Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental issues.
ASP Sea Staff Seminars are conducted and induction seminars are held for full crews joining vessels new to management.
In many instances onboard training is the most appropriate and successful method of delivery. Where ASP provides a full crew we recommend Onboard Training.
The subject matter of targeted ‘refresher’ training is largely dictated by requirements of ASPSM and is based upon results and observations recorded during vessel inspections (both internal and 3rd party).
Safety training initiatives are proposed by ASP Group Training based upon feedback from sea staff and input from managers.
The VOD (computer based training) system is recommended for use to supplement face to face training, and a number of Flag State approved courses are available.
Training initiatives and other training materials created for onboard training are used to develop ASP Training Centres.
